A guide for clients receiving appointment reminders
Your provider uses secure text reminders to help you stay updated about upcoming appointments. Below is everything you need to know about what these reminders look like and how to respond.
What You’ll Receive
Before your appointment, you will get a text message that looks similar to this:
Hi [your initials]. You have an appointment with [Staff Name] at [Time] on [Date].
Reply YES to confirm, NO to cancel, or STOP to stop future reminders.
Call the office at [Clinic Phone Number] to reschedule.
Reminders may be sent up to 7 days before your appointment, depending on your clinic’s settings.
How to Respond
You can reply directly to the message using the following options:
YES
Confirms your appointment.
NO
Cancels your appointment.
Your clinic may contact you to reschedule, or you can call them directly.
STOP
Opt-out of all future text reminders from the clinic.
If you choose this option, you won’t receive appointment reminders anymore unless you re-subscribe (if your clinic supports it).
Why Didn’t I Get a Reminder?
You may not receive reminders if:
You replied STOP in the past
Your phone number on file is incorrect
Your cell carrier blocks automated messages
You do not have a mobile number capable of receiving text messages
If you believe you should be receiving reminders, contact your clinic directly.
